There are two kinds of people in the world, there are those that are successful and those that are unsuccessful. I am not just speaking in terms of money, NO, money is just a tool that follows those that are creating something of value with their lives. In exchange, we give something of value in return.
Successful people are making a life that works for them because the way they approach life is with a posture of, “What do I want and how do I get it?” Be it health, peace, love, a new job or career, a happier family, more space, more margin in my budget, or maybe more family time. Successful people are CREATORS. They use their energy to create the life they want.
Unsuccessful people spend their time thinking about “What they don’t want, and how to blame others for the results they are getting.”
While successful people create, unsuccessful people complain.
You might say, “Well Emily, I am not a creative person, I just don’t resonate with the idea of being creative.” And I would say that’s ridiculous.
We as human beings are made to “create” and “pro-create.” It is literally in the very make-up of our being that we create things! We create humans, we create meals, we create environments (whether we realize it or not), we create conversations, we create friendships, we create problems, we create ideas, we create all day long, all of us.
You get to choose; you can cultivate a creative spirit that takes on the challenges of life and asks, “What do I want and how do I get there?” Or you can continue to live a bland, sad, painful life where you lay down as a victim and spend your time thinking about all the things you don’t have, how life has been so hard and bad, and all the people that have done you wrong. And you will stay right there.
Like the Israelites in the desert, whining and complaining. We will just live there, in the desert, in lack, in despair, in scarcity, never tasting anything different, and enslaved to our circumstances.
Here in this place, our whole life is someone else’s fault. Powerless.
But my dear, this is what I want for you…. that you may realize the tremendous power we have to CREATE. To craft, to architect a life that we can love.
Can you imagine living a life you LOVE? It is possible. It starts with you. You have to ask yourself, “What do I want?”
Make a list, write out the vision or what you want to see for your life, and then take your crayons, your paints, your scissors, and a needle and thread and begin to create! Begin to design the life that you WANT.
You hold the power. The creative impulse lives inside you. It is time, no more wandering in the desert of lack and fear, it is time for love and life.
