Joy, a Priceless Facilitator in Ruiru, Kenya, shares her heart and her faith in this blog. She has found a way into radiant hope.
Hey there my name is Joy and I believe I can relate to what you are feeling right now.
I am not saying I know how you feel but I can relate. We have all lived in a place of mixed thoughts, ideas, suggestions, having to make decisions, choices that seem impossible to make. I have been there and I know the feeling is not the most appealing of feelings. Being in a place where nothing seems to make sense. When things feel like they have all suddenly stopped and you are the only one moving, moving in slow motion. I know. You may feel like this is it and that you will not make it out and that you cannot indeed make it out of this place.
Maybe you feel like you are cornered between a rock and a hard place. Or you feel like you are drowning in your own sea of things, issues, decisions, even responsibilities. Yes, I do get it. All the frustration and the many demands from life coming from all directions. You are convinced that that where you are is just the end and things cannot get any better.
Well, I think otherwise. Just imagine right now being where you are and feeling all you feel, stumbling upon a lake whose content is all the peace and joy and gladness that you would ever need. A source of everything you know you need right now. Hope, a way out, new beginnings, someone to be there for you, comfort, strength, or even love. All that you need. Would it not be amazing?! And all you would have to do is drink from the magnificent lake and then just like snapping your fingers you would have no more of the displeasuring emotions. All the things you feel and you do not want to would be gone just like that.
You know what, we all have that lake of glad tidings. YOU have this great lake. Only that it is not out there somewhere for you to find. This is all in you. It is in me. A great source of everything good you could ever want to experience. Sounds too good to be true? Well, that is what I call “The Gospel.” Too good to be true news! That God Almighty, creator of everything seen and unseen, gave everything up and put you before Himself and died to give you life.
He took up that guilt, shame, condemnation, confusion, rejection, feelings of not being enough, feeling alone, feeling unsure about what to believe in and what not to, the self-hatred, feeling hate for others and everything else you might be feeling Jesus took that all away, as far as the East is to the West so has He taken all these from you. In their place, He brought you self-love and love for others, joy in who you are in Him and not who the world wants you to be, peace even in a wild world, patience even when it feels hard and impossible, kindness to yourself and others, goodness, self-control to help with the anger and lust this world will try to bring along your path.
He brought you beauty, radiance, a reason to hold your head up high and confront everything that you face. Trust not in me but Him when He says “I am with you till the end of the age.” Believe it when He says He loves you regardless. You are more precious than the most beautiful pearls and rubies to Him. All you have to do is believe and receive. Receive this great love The Father has poured out toward you and wants to lavish you with. Reach within you to where He has deposited all things you need to live this life and now live this life! Not ‘trying’ to live or merely surviving, He wants you to live, to love, to grow, to be who He made you to be. His child, royalty. He loves you and that is why you will make it through this!
